United States Counties

For years I have wanted to tackle the onerous task of tallying all the counties in the United States of America. This project has finally finished in a spreadsheet that is 1817 rows tall and 57 rows wide. All states' counties were recorded under their respective state, then copied into a single column. Duplicate names were removed to get a comprehensive list of all the unique county names. Alaska's boroughs were included with the exception of Unorganized Borough. Virginia's independent cities were not counted. Hawaii's disputed Kalawao county was not counted. Data was current as of 4.13.11.

Want to track the counties you've been to? These guys have an app for that.
